On March 24 Beijing time, Warriors reporter Friedel reported that Moody underwent an X-ray examination after the game. The 23-year-old player currently has a stabilizing brace on his knee. He also stated that Moody will fly back to the Bay Area with the Warriors and undergo an MRI scan tomorrow.

During the overtime period of the Warriors' away victory over the Mavericks, with 1 minute and 12 seconds remaining, Moody suffered a severe injury to his left leg. At that moment, Moody intercepted Flagg's ball and dribbled forward, attempting to complete a fast-break dunk and land with force, but his left leg suddenly lost strength, preventing him from executing the jumping dunk motion. Moody immediately clutched his left leg and was eventually carried off the court on a stretcher.
Warriors head coach Kerr promptly stated that he is currently unaware of the specific injury details, but based on the situation at the time, the outlook appears quite unfavorable.
Prior to this non-contact injury, Moody's performance was notably impressive: he played 34 minutes, scored 23 points, and contributed 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. This was the first game for this fifth-year team wing player after recovering from an injury, having previously missed 10 consecutive games due to a right wrist sprain.
Moody was the 14th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has become a regular rotation starter for the Golden State Warriors in the 2025-26 season. Before Monday's game, he had played in 59 games, starting 48 of them, averaging 25.5 minutes per game, scoring 11.9 points and 3.3 rebounds, with a three-point shooting percentage of 40.2%, marking a career high.
Clearly, if Moody suffers any serious injury, it would significantly impact the Warriors' playoff prospects. The Warriors are essentially locked into a play-in tournament spot and are striving to secure the eighth seed in the Western Conference to gain two opportunities to advance to the playoffs.

After the game, injury expert Nirav Pandya also discussed Moody's injury, stating: "Regarding Moody's injury, the team will obviously arrange a series of routine examinations (such as X-rays and MRI), but if abnormal positioning of the patella (knee bone) is observed, it is crucial to be alert to several severe conditions—patellar tendon rupture, patellar dislocation, or more severe knee dislocation (multiple ligament damage)."
"This is just a static image, but overall, it shows abnormal positioning of the patella relative to the femur. In patellar dislocation, the patella typically shifts laterally (outward); whereas in patellar tendon rupture, the patella shifts upward. This situation may also involve other ligament injuries, making MRI examination essential."
Over the past two months, the Warriors have consistently lacked two key players: Butler suffered a right knee ACL tear on January 20, and Curry has been sidelined since January 31 due to right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome (commonly known as 'runner's knee').
