Hello to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is World Game Hub.
The LOL Global Pioneer Tournament held its semifinals yesterday. The group stage of this tournament used a double-elimination format, but switched to single-elimination in the playoffs, giving each team only one chance.

The result was a shocking upset: after sweeping BFX, G2 also swept GEN with a 3-0 victory.
G2 dominates completely, the worst disaster in LCK history.
In the previous round against BFX, G2 exploded across all positions, almost dominating every lane, astonishing viewers worldwide. How did the G2 team, which was swept by BLG, suddenly erupt? Yesterday's match saw G2 create another miracle, not only sweeping LCK's second seed but also sweeping the strongest team, GEN.

Thus, LCK suffered a catastrophic blow in this Pioneer Tournament, with both major teams swept and eliminated, creating the worst disaster in the region's history. Even in S9 when LCK was completely wiped out, they weren't as badly beaten as being swept 6-0.
In this round, G2 again achieved complete superiority in player matchups, decision-making, and macro play. They not only held up in lane but also gained advantages, with no shortcomings in macro and aggression. In contrast, GEN's performance fell far short of what was expected from LCK's strongest team.

In the first game, GEN picked a strong lane-dominant bot lane combo but failed to execute after being ganked and killed. In small skirmishes, Skewmond's Pantheon had overwhelming presence, constantly attacking effectively. GEN retreated step by step, failing multiple counterattacks and being crushed.
Chovy looks pale, Caps becomes the savior.
Then GEN surprisingly picked a top lane Vayne. Even with Exhaust, she didn't gain enough advantage to benefit the team, instead performing poorly in key fights and being focused down. Chovy's Ahri failed to make an impact, while G2's Braum repeatedly dominated in team fights. Caps' Viktor topped the damage charts and secured another victory.

Before the third game started, the camera showed the players on stage. Chovy's expression had completely changed; he looked dazed and devoid of fighting spirit. Secondary stream commentators also noted that once Chovy shows such a face, GEN truly seems finished.
As expected, GEN, which had often completed reverse sweeps from 0-2, failed to mount an effective counterattack in the third game. G2 deployed a top lane Shen paired with a bot lane Kog'Maw and Lulu, playing a crucial role. After Chovy interrupted Shen's TP top lane, Shen solo killed him.

G2's mid and jungle continued charging forward. The Jarvan IV aggressively initiated fights effectively. Caps' overly fed Akali dominated the side lanes. Once GEN fell behind, they couldn't calmly handle the situation and were taken down by G2's strong assault, ultimately stopping in the semifinals alongside BFX.
Caps also became the savior of the entire European region, leading G2 to accomplish an impossible task.
Everything falls apart without Faker; LCK becomes a scene of mediocrity.
After G2's match against BLG earlier, many viewers criticized Caps, saying he didn't deserve a Hall of Fame spot, being crushed by Knight with extremely poor performance. Yet two days later, Caps proved his Hall of Fame caliber with actual performance, certainly not inferior to other players.

After years of competition and in the LEC environment with relatively lower league intensity, Caps still achieved such a miraculous feat. It must be said that Caps truly deserves to be called a legendary League of Legends mid laner and is worthy of being the third player inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Regarding LCK, everyone exclaimed that everything falls apart without Faker. Without Faker and T1 these past few years, LCK would likely have lost many championships, including the two tough matches against JDG and BLG in previous World Championships, which were secured by T1. GEN has hardly performed well in World Championships.

It was thought that for international tournaments outside Worlds, GEN would handle them easily. Unexpectedly, they faltered in the first international event, truly disappointing. After such a failure, LCK instead becomes a scene of mediocrity. The perceived high-level clashes among Korean teams have dropped several tiers.
Personally, I believe this complete wipeout of LCK is absolutely the most extreme and rare occurrence in LOL history. G2, sweeping two Korean teams, will surely be recorded in history, becoming heroes for the entire LEC region.
