Vietnam national team receives morale boost from two top VFF leaders

Chairman and Vice Chairman of VFF visit and encourage Vietnam national team during afternoon training session on March 23.

On March 23 afternoon, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, VFF Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan and Vice Chairman Tran Anh Tu met and encouraged the Vietnam national team training for two matches during FIFA Days March 2026.

During the meeting, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan acknowledged and highly praised the players' efforts during recent V.League matches, which provided a positive professional foundation for the team in this training camp. Representing the VFF Standing Committee, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated the Vietnam national team on officially securing a spot in the 2027 Asian Cup Finals, after AFC made the final decision regarding Malaysia's violation in Group F.

The team faces two matches during FIFA Days: a friendly against Bangladesh and a crucial match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that these matches are not only professionally significant but also directly impact the goal of reaching top 100 in FIFA rankings, requiring the team to maintain high concentration and maximize their capabilities.

This training camp also features notable players, including naturalized players like Xuan Son and Hoang Hen, who have played in Vietnam for a long time and expressed desire to contribute to the national team. VFF leaders hope the current squad will strengthen the team's power and create effective generational succession, aiming to maintain Southeast Asian dominance and assert themselves in Asian competitions.

Additionally, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that VFF will continue providing optimal conditions for the team's comprehensive preparation. Players are required to uphold professionalism, responsibility, follow the coaching staff's plan, and develop effective tactics to achieve upcoming cumulative goals, including ASEAN Cup and 2027 Asian Cup Finals, and further World Cup qualifiers in the next cycle.

After the meeting, the Vietnam national team proceeded with afternoon training. Since seven players from Hanoi Police Club haven't joined (they will join on March 24 after completing postponed V.League round 13 match), Coach Kim Sang-sik currently lacks full squad. Nevertheless, the coaching staff implemented the training plan as scheduled, adjusting workload and content appropriately for each player group.
