Supercomputer predicts outcome of Vietnam vs Bangladesh match

The statistics website Besoccer has provided data and winning probabilities for the friendly match between the Vietnam national team and the Bangladesh national team.

To best prepare for the final Group F match against the Malaysia national team in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers, the Vietnam national team has chosen to play a friendly against the Bangladesh national team.

With home advantage and a squad rated higher, especially featuring quality naturalized players, coach Kim Sang Sik's team clearly holds an edge over the South Asian opponent, currently ranked 181st in the FIFA rankings. This assessment is also reinforced by the predictions from the website Besoccer before the match.

Specifically, Besoccer estimates the Vietnam national team's chance of winning to be as high as 82.3%, significantly surpassing the figure of 5.3% for Bangladesh, while the probability of a draw is 12.4%. Regarding the scoreline, the most likely scenarios are 2-0 (14.4%), 3-0 (12.8%), 1-0 (10.8%), and 4-0 (8.5%), all favoring the home team.

These forecasts partly reflect the disparity in skill level between the two teams, thereby reinforcing confidence in a favorable outcome for the "Golden Star Warriors" at Hang Day Stadium.

Up to now, the Vietnam national team has undergone three training sessions preparing for the friendly against Bangladesh as well as the upcoming match against Malaysia. However, coach Kim Sang Sik still does not have the full squad available, as some players are busy with club competitions and are expected to join the team in the coming days.

This training camp sees the arrival of several notable names. Among them is Hoang Hen, the Brazilian-origin naturalized player who is called up for the first time.

Additionally, Xuan Son is also a figure attracting media attention, having only returned last November. In this training camp, the striker from Nam Dinh Steel Blue is hoped to continue shining to bring joy to Vietnamese football fans, similar to his performance at the 2024 AFF Cup.
