Following his father's footsteps, Ronaldo's son joins Real Madrid

Cristiano Jr, the eldest son of Cristiano Ronaldo, has trained with the Real Madrid academy, opening up the possibility of joining the club's youth teams in the near future.

According to sources from The Athletic, Cristiano Jr, the eldest son of Cristiano Ronaldo recently trained with the Real Madrid U16 team in Spain, raising the possibility of joining the Royal club's youth development system soon.

Playing as a forward, the rising star born in 2010 is currently part of the academy of Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League club his father joined in December 2022.

If he moves to Real Madrid, Cristiano Jr would join the club where Cristiano Ronaldo holds the record for the greatest number of goals in its history, with 450 goals in 438 appearances. During his nine years in the Spanish capital, the Portuguese superstar won four Champions League titles, two La Liga championships, and two Copa del Rey trophies.

Before moving to Al Nassr, Cristiano Jr also spent time developing at the youth academies of Manchester United and Juventus, two other former clubs in his father's illustrious career.

Although born in the United States, Cristiano Jr received his first call-up to Portugal's youth national teams in May last year. Ronaldo's eldest son debuted for the U15 team in a match against Japan at the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament, before continuing to be given opportunities to play at the U17 level thereafter.

Thanks to a physical foundation that stands out compared to players of the same age, Cristiano Jr often holds a clear advantage in one-on-one duels and ball retention. Not only that, he also impresses with his agility in tight spaces, neat ball handling, and sufficient composure to overcome pressing pressure in complex situations.

Meanwhile, at the national team level, his father Ronaldo has held the captaincy of the Portugal squad since 2008 and is the greatest scorer in the team's history with 143 goals in 226 appearances. The 41-year-old legend also played a key role in winning the Euro 2016 title, along with two UEFA Nations League trophies in the 2018/19 and 2024/25 seasons.
