ASEAN media buzzes over Hoàng Hên's debut for Vietnam national team

ASEAN FOOTBALL shared about Hoàng Hên's first time wearing the Vietnam national team jersey: "Brazilian-born midfielder Đỗ Hoàng Hên officially debuted for the Vietnam national team in the friendly match against Bangladesh on March 26. This new recruit was named in the starting lineup and played the full 90 minutes, showing great trust from the coaching staff."

In the match held at Hàng Đẫy Stadium, Hoàng Hên was given the opportunity to start by coach Kim Sang-sik, marking his first time wearing the national team jersey after completing his citizenship procedures in late 2025. The 1994-born midfielder quickly integrated into the team's overall play, contributing to Vietnam's control of the match and achieving a 3-0 victory over Bangladesh.

Speaking after the match, Hoàng Hên modestly shared: "Iam very happy that the team won in my first match. Personally, I haven't shown 100% of my ability, but the most important thing is that the national team won".

This midfielder also affirmed that he does not prioritize personal achievements: "Not scoring a goal is fine, the important thing is Vietnam's victory. I and my teammates will continue to give our best in the upcoming matches".

Besides his professional skills, Hoàng Hên also impressed by fluently singing the Vietnamese national anthem before the match. This image quickly spread and received much support, clearly showing his attachment and determination to contribute as a Brazilian-born player.

Previously, on the day he officially became a Vietnamese citizen in October 2025, Hoàng Hên expressed pride in wearing the national team jersey. This was further demonstrated in his recent debut, where he played diligently and quickly integrated with his teammates.
