The statements following the win against Bangladesh appear to have shed some light on Vietnam's tactical calculations for the pivotal encounter with Malaysia.

For Coach Kim Sang Sik, this was also a comprehensive test of each player's physical condition, form, and tactical adaptability ahead of the key confrontation with Malaysia on March 31.

Within that context, the names Nguyen Xuan Son, Do Hoang Hen, and Van Hau became focal points in different ways. More importantly, Coach Kim Sang Sik's post-match statements somewhat revealed that all three are still being seriously considered for the match against Malaysia.

Xuan Son is the case requiring the coaching staff's closest monitoring. This naturalized striker came on in the second half but could not create a clear impact as expected. After the match, Coach Kim Sang Sik candidly stated: "We need to check Xuan Son's weight again. Recently, he had thigh muscle pain, so his movement wasn't very fluid today. Xuan Son is striving to regain his peak form. I expect him to perform better in the match against Malaysia."
