A group of Malaysian naturalized stars arrives in Ninh Binh, ready to face the Vietnamese national team.

On the evening of March 28, the Malaysian national team arrived in Hanoi and moved to Ninh Binh, preparing for their match against the Vietnamese national team at Thiên Trường Stadium as part of the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup.

The flight carrying "The Malaysian Tigers" landed at Noi Bai International Airport around 8:30 PM on the same day. The delegation traveling to Vietnam consisted of 51 members, including 28 players Head coach Peter Cklamovski registered for the match and 23 members of the coaching staff.

The Malaysian national team's roster continues to draw attention with the inclusion of many naturalized players. Specifically, up to 13 out of 28 players in the squad are multi-nationality players, with notable names such as Dominic Tan, Daniel Ting, Quentin Cheng, Endrick, Ryan Lambert, Nooa Laine, Ezequiel Aguero, and Paulo Josue. Additionally, the Malaysian squad also features some players currently playing abroad, prominently including defender Dion Cools (Cerezo Osaka Club, Japan), Daniel Ting (Ratchaburi Club, Thailand), and midfielder Endrick – a player currently competing in the V-League for Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.

Compared to the most recent encounter between the two teams in June 2025, Malaysia's lineup has undergone significant adjustments, with seven naturalized players who are no longer eligible to play absent. Nevertheless, the team maintains a core framework with many familiar faces, while also adding some new elements such as Muhammad Feroz Baharudin and Muhammad Syahmi Safari.

Notably, two names that had received much expectation from Malaysian fans – striker Bergson da Silva and defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco – are not included in the list traveling to Vietnam. Among them, Bergson da Silva – the veteran striker playing in the Malaysian national league – is known for his impressive scoring record while playing for Johor DT.

After completing immigration procedures, the Malaysian national team moved to their hotel to rest. According to the plan, the team will have two training sessions in Vietnam to finalize preparations before entering the match against the Vietnamese national team at Thiên Trường Stadium on March 31.
