Vietnam Team receives exciting news ahead of Malaysia showdown

Vietnam Team will have the strongest lineup ready for the rematch against Malaysia in the final Asian Cup 2027 qualifying round.

On March 31 afternoon, Vietnam Team held a familiarization training session to prepare for the match against Malaysia in the final Asian Cup 2027 qualifying round.

During this training session, the atmosphere at Thiên Trường Stadium was quite relaxed as the team was no longer under pressure, having already secured an early qualification. Additionally, Coach Kim Sang Sik received positive news regarding the squad condition when Khuất Văn Khang, a player who had issues after the friendly win against Bangladesh, returned to training with his teammates. Although initially training separately to ensure fitness, the 2003-born midfielder later completed the full training program with the team, indicating his readiness for the upcoming match.

This means Vietnam Team is likely to have almost the strongest lineup aiming for victory against Malaysia, thereby concluding the qualifying campaign with a perfect win record. This is also an important goal set by the coaching staff to maintain momentum and build positive psychology for upcoming tournaments.

Furthermore, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team are determined to "settle the debt" after the 0-4 loss at Bukit Jalil Stadium last June. Even though the Asian Football Confederation awarded Vietnam Team a 3-0 win due to Malaysia's violations regarding naturalized players regulations, the players still want to secure a convincing victory on the field. This is not only an opportunity to bring joy to home fans but also a chance to reaffirm the status and strength of the reigning Southeast Asian champion.

During the pre-match press conference, Coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed his determination to win with his players and also stated the desired outcome.

The Korean strategist declared:We have qualified for the finals, but that does not make tomorrow's match less important. The whole team still aims for victory, and we also see this as preparation for major tournaments next year. The team has prepared well and is ready for the match. The common goal is to win, and I personally hope the team will win 2-0."

Also attending the press conference, defender Đoàn Văn Hậu clearly expressed the team's determination ahead of the match.
