According to the plan, the entire team will gather in Hanoi from March 17 before traveling to China to compete at the end of the month.
This is the first gathering of U23 Vietnam since the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, coinciding with the FIFA Days training schedule of the national team. In recent years, Mr. Đinh Hồng Vinh has been a familiar figure accompanying youth teams such as U22 and U23 Vietnam in numerous training camps and international tournaments. His deep understanding of the young players is expected to help the coaching staff maintain stability in the squad during the current transition phase.

For this training camp, the main goal of U23 Vietnam is to build a successor generation of players, as many key players have exceeded the age limit or moved up to the national team. The coaching staff will focus on reviewing and evaluating the squad to prepare for men's football at the 2026 Asian Games, where the core is expected to be players from the 2005–2007 age group.
This summoning list continues to include many familiar faces who have matured from youth teams, such as goalkeeper Phạm Đình Hải, Cao Văn Bình, midfielder Nguyễn Công Phương, Lê Văn Thuận, and forward Nguyễn Lê Phát. Additionally, there are a series of new talents like Nguyễn Quốc Toản, Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Trần Hải Anh, Nguyễn Trọng Sơn, Tạ Xuân Trường, and Vũ Quốc Anh, promising to create positive competition within the squad.
According to the plan, after nearly a week of training in Hanoi, the coaching staff will reduce the list to 25 players before traveling to Xi'an city for the CFA Team China 2026 tournament, which takes place from March 25 to March 31.
This year's tournament features four teams: host U23 China, U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand, and U23 North Korea. The teams will play a single round-robin format to determine the final rankings. According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will face U23 North Korea on March 25, meet U23 Thailand on March 28, and conclude the tournament with a match against host U23 China on March 31.
