Lisandro Martinez set to return for Manchester United against Leeds United! Red Devils' Bell confirmed absent, comeback likely delayed until May.

Manchester United is poised to get significant injury updates ahead of the Irish training camp next week, as Lisandro Martinez is likely to travel with the squad to Dublin. The Argentine defender's goal is to return for the Premier League fixture versus Leeds United.

Lisandro Martinez has not played since Manchester United's draw with West Ham United on February 10th. He missed five matches due to a calf injury, and if he returns for the home game against Leeds United on April 13th, his absence will end at two months.

The 28-year-old Martinez can participate in a four-day mid-season intensive training session. If he passes the tests successfully, he might even start against Leeds United, as Harry Maguire received a red card in the match against Bournemouth and will be suspended for one game. Although Manchester United appealed the decision, the referees' association did not respond, and even if they did, Maguire's red card could not be overturned since it was not a serious misjudgment.

When Martinez was injured, it was initially expected he would only miss one week, but a subsequent setback significantly delayed his recovery. Now he hopes to return to the pitch, regain form, and stay healthy, as he also aims to participate in Argentina's World Cup defense journey this summer in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

However, for Danish winger Patrick Doku, returning for Manchester United's match against Leeds United is still too early. He suffered a hamstring injury over two months ago in the game against Arsenal and has not fully recovered yet. Similar to Doku, Dutch center-back Matthijs de Ligt has been sidelined since November after being named team's best player, due to a back injury with no clear return date, potentially missing the rest of the season.

Compared to de Ligt, the 21-year-old Doku has at least returned to Carrington training ground for fitness work and is also doing outdoor jogging. However, it will still take some time before he resumes full training. The Manchester Evening News reports that Doku will not be available for the match against Leeds United on April 13th.

According to British media, Doku's return to Manchester United's first-team action is likely to occur in May rather than April. Given the team's current squad depth, ranking, and schedule, manager Carrick has no need to rush and reintegrate Doku prematurely.

Doku injured himself after scoring against Arsenal; initially it seemed minor but was later diagnosed as a hamstring injury. Hamstring issues are often difficult to heal completely and can recur if not fully treated. Now, Doku hopes to play again before the season ends.

Manchester United has only three matches in April: besides the home game against Leeds United, they will visit Chelsea and host Brentford. In May, the team has four Premier League fixtures: home against Liverpool, away to Sunderland, home versus Nottingham Forest, and away to Brighton. Players can rest adequately, with left-back Luke Shaw starting all Premier League games and left-wing Cunha also fully fit, so Carrick faces no shortage of personnel.

Due to this injury, Doku has already missed the chance to play for Denmark in the World Cup qualifiers European playoff. His target is to return before the season ends. Denmark lost to Czech Republic in a penalty shootout in the playoff final, thus missing this summer's World Cup. Therefore, Doku need not risk it and can wait until his injury is 100% healed before returning to the field.
