The 31-year-old captain was a key factor in MU's rise to third place under interim manager Carrick, who secured 7 wins in 10 matches. Fernandes believes the team now plays more cohesively and is prepared to "endure" during difficult moments in matches. He shared with Men in Blazers Media Network:

"He changed some players, adjusted positions for a few, experimented with different formations, and eventually we started scoring. Regarding chance creation, when Ruben was here, we were nearly among the top but couldn't capitalize. At that time, we were also one of the best defensive teams, rarely allowing opponents into the penalty area, but whenever threatened, we became more vulnerable. Now, we defend more tightly when needed and understand there will be moments to endure when the team is not at its best."

Carrick began with a schedule considered extremely tough, but according to Bruno Fernandes, that actually propelled MU forward. "I don't think it was luck, but facing two big matches right away (when Carrick took over) was beneficial for us. When you beat Man City and then face Arsenal – the league leaders and a very tough opponent at Emirates – you might think 'everything will be fine, we are playing well and will continue winning'," the Portuguese midfielder continued, "We found a way to win, and sometimes big clubs need to know how to win matches, regardless of whether the style is beautiful."

Bruno Fernandes is currently a candidate for the PFA Player of the Year award and is performing brilliantly. He has scored 8 goals and provided 16 assists in the Premier League this season, with 7 rounds remaining.

The Portuguese midfielder also gave an interesting answer when asked which club legend he would like to play with at present. Instead of choosing names like Eric Cantona or Roy Keane, he chose manager Carrick himself.

Explaining this choice, Fernandes said: "It might sound strange, but I've said this many times… it's Michael Carrick. I trained with him when he worked under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and sometimes he played as a holding midfielder to circulate the ball between lines – he was excellent. For a number 10 like me, you always want to receive the ball as quickly as possible, and he was extremely skilled in timing passes, controlling, and distributing. Sometimes it's not about holding the ball long, but finding teammates in the most advantageous positions – for me, that is perfect."

After a period of being dragged down to an unsuitable low point under Amorim, Fernandes is now flourishing as he is restored to his key creative role in the team. He has one year left on his contract with MU and has a release clause worth £56.68 million for foreign clubs. The Portuguese star received interest from Saudi Arabian clubs last summer, and this possibility may be reconsidered when the season ends.
