Undefeated Masters Tournament Wins Count: Giants Lead Dominantly, Sinner Closing in on Murray!

The Masters tournament review is still ongoing, with Sinner clinching another title without losing a set, marking the third time he has accomplished this in his career to date. Looking at history, how does he fare in this data ranking? What are the cases where players won a Masters championship without conceding a set in their journey?

Novak Djokovic: 11 times

Miami (2007, 2012, 2014, 2016), Paris (2014, 2019), Toronto (2016), Shanghai (2015, 2018), Madrid (2019), Rome (2022)

The master among masters, Djokovic, again tops this list. His performance at Miami stands out, accounting for four of his six titles there. Additionally, he achieved this at both Paris and Shanghai, the late-season events. His clay-court performances are also commendable, including once each in Madrid and Rome. The most standout years were 2014, 2016, and 2019, when he accomplished it twice each.

Rafael Nadal: 8 times

Monte Carlo (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2018), Indian Wells (2007), Rome (2009, 2012)

Nadal's eight instances were almost all on clay courts, which is unsurprising. Who says Nadal isn't strong on hard courts? Back in the 2007 Indian Wells Masters, he won the title with a near-perfect performance. The highest frequency occurred in 2007 and 2012, with two times each.

Roger Federer: 7 times

Indian Wells (2005, 2017), Hamburg (2005), Madrid (2006), Cincinnati (2012, 2015), Paris (2011)

Compared to Nadal, Federer's achievements all occurred on hard courts. The Madrid Masters was a hard court event in 2006, and Federer is one of the most successful players in the tournament's history. In his peak year of 2005, he also achieved this feat twice.

Andy Murray: 4 times

Rome (2016), Cincinnati (2011), Shanghai (2010, 2016)

Jannik Sinner: 3 times

Paris (2025), Indian Wells (2026), Miami (2026)

Murray currently holds a slight lead with four times over Sinner's three, but given the Italian's current momentum, the Briton being surpassed is inevitable.

Alcaraz, not on the list, is known for his prowess in long battles; in terms of swiftly concluding matches, he still needs to catch up to his predecessors.Source: Tennis Home, Author: Luo Cheng Qiye
