The British star is anticipated by a former Wimbledon champion to potentially join the two-way competition between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash believes that young British tennis player Jack Draper possesses the capability to end the current dominance of the duo Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in men's tennis, thanks to his superior "firepower" and "mental toughness."
Over the past two years, Sinner and Alcaraz have nearly alternated in dominating Grand Slam tournaments, winning all of the last nine titles. Specifically in the 2025 season, these two players faced each in all three major finals—Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open—creating a gap of up to 6,390 points over the world's third-ranked player, Alexander Zverev.

Recently, Alcaraz further solidified his status by becoming the youngest male player in history to complete the collection of four Grand Slam titles after winning the Australian Open. Meanwhile, Sinner has also been impressive, becoming the first player to consecutively win the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open without losing a single set in the same season.
Nevertheless, Pat Cash believes there are still players capable of challenging this duo. Sharing on a podcast, he stated: "In reality, not many can compete with them. Novak Djokovic remains a certain threat, but I think Jack Draper is the most notable name. He has power in his play and particularly a solid mental foundation."
Cash also emphasized that Draper's victory over Djokovic immediately upon returning from injury is a clear demonstration of this player's potential. Additionally, he praised young talent Arthur Fils but considered Draper the most promising candidate to make a breakthrough.
Head-to-head statistics show Draper is not overshadowed, having won 3 victories in 8 encounters with Sinner and Alcaraz. He defeated Alcaraz at Queen’s Club in 2024, overcame Sinner since 2021, and again beat the Spanish player at Indian Wells 2025. However, with his current world ranking at number 25, Draper could face these two opponents as early as the third round of Grand Slam tournaments, making deep progress more challenging.
While highly valuing Draper, Cash still believes the long-term competition will continue to revolve around Sinner and Alcaraz. He predicts that over the next four years, these two players could share up to 16 Grand Slam titles. However, when asked who would win more titles, Cash leans slightly toward Alcaraz, though he believes the difference will not be significant.
"Sinner might be more consistent and have a longer career, but when Alcaraz reaches his peak form, he is nearly unbeatable. I think Alcaraz will edge out slightly in terms of titles, but the difference won't be large," he remarked.
Currently, Draper has withdrawn from the Monte-Carlo Masters, while Sinner and Alcaraz will reappear at this tournament, held from April 5 to 12 in Monaco. This will continue to be a stage for the two young stars to affirm their status, while players like Draper strive to narrow the gap and seek breakthrough opportunities.
